ABOUT ME
My name is Rosa Stienstra. I am a Dutch photographer with a passion for storytelling and showing a different perspective on the world around us. For example, by using the reflections in water or in the glass of buildings for my photography. My focus areas are urban, travel and portrait photography.
I believe the best camera is the one you have with you. Which is mostly your phone. My passion for photography started during my teenage years when I was inspired by photographers on Instagram who used their phones using the hashtag #mobilephotography. Instagram played a huge role in the development of my photographic style. In its early years, Instagram organized yearly meetings, called ‘Instameets’, for professional and amateur photographers to get to know each other, take photos together, and exchange new ideas. After years of mobile photography, I bought a DSLR camera in 2015 and taught myself to shoot with it manually. Eventually, I also attended a photography course at SAE Institute Amsterdam to learn about different types of photography and editing software. Nonetheless, most of the photos on my website are created with my phone.
